Research shows that children who get sunburns at an early age have an increased risk for developing melanoma and other skin cancers later in life. The ‘Outrun the Sun School Curriculum’ provides information to help children learn about sun protection. It guides teachers in promoting sun safety behaviors in an effort to reduce students’ lifetime risk of developing skin cancers. Lesson plans, activities, tool-kits, and teacher guides are available for elementary, middle, and high school teachers and
are linked to the Indiana Academic Standards.
