Outrun the Sun Race Against Melanoma
Outrun the Sun Race Against Melanoma & Sunset Festival, Indianapolis
The Outrun the Sun Race Against Melanoma is OTS’ largest annual fundraiser. Since its inception in Indianapolis in 2005, this evening event has generated more than $1.2 million, which has allowed OTS to implement both education and research programs. In addition to the Indianapolis event, races have taken place in New York and Alaska.
Race proceeds support Outrun the Sun’s ongoing educational community partnerships. These include programs with Girl Scouts councils throughout the United States, Indiana Department of Education, YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, Boy Scouts of America–Crossroads Council of America and numerous health and wellness outreach initiatives.
Sponsorships, registration fees and donations from the race also support melanoma research initiatives including the Outrun the Sun Melanoma Research Scholar Program, the Outrun the Sun Scholar at the Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health at IUPUI and the OTS Melanoma Forum where researchers convene in Indianapolis to discuss their work.
If you are interested in hosting an Outrun the Sun Race Against Melanoma in your community or would like to support an existing race, please contact Anita Day, Executive Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org. We thank you for your support.
