Understanding your results:
Comparison group: We have selected females, age 50, with no family history of melanoma, no episodes of severe and painful sunburn, no moles, and light brown hair color as our comparison group. Your result (or value) will be compared to this group, that has little to no risk.
If your value is positive, you have this percentage of an increased risk of developing melanoma compared with our identified group. If the value is negative, you have this percentage of a decreased risk of developing melanoma compared with our identified group.
Example: if your result is 28%, this means you have a 28% increased risk of developing melanoma compared with a woman of age of 50 with no family history of melanoma, no episodes of severe and painful sunburn, no moles, and light brown hair color.
If you are in a high-risk category for each question and your value/result is in the range of 100%-199%, it means you have one-fold higher risk than our comparison group. 150% means 1.5 fold.
If your value is in the range of 200%-299%, it means you have two-fold higher risk. 250% means 2.5 fold.
If your value is in the range of 300%-399%, it means you have three-fold higher risk. 350% means 3.5 fold.
If your value is >400%, it means you have four-fold higher risk. 450% means 4.5 fold.
